Students at CofC Create a Charleston Miracle for Kids at MUSC

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a movement taking over college campuses across North America.  It is a program from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that allows colleges and universities to fundraise for their local CMN Hospital while dancing, playing games, hanging out with Miracle Kids, spending time with friends and getting to meet new friends.

Charleston Miracle is the new and improved group of student leaders on the College of Charleston campus who plan and implement their main fundraising event, CougarThon!  This 13-hour event will take place on Saturday, March 10th at TD Arena.  Over 250 students gather to celebrate the miracles happening at the MUSC Children’s Hospital.  Proceeds from this event have played a major role in facilitating the development of new programs and divisions within the Children’s Hospital and the Darby Children’s Research institute.  Since inception, this event has raised over $500,000 to help the kids of Charleston and surrounding areas.  Funds raised are now going towards the campaign to build the new MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.  Charleston Miracle is set to reach their 3-year goal of $150,000 for the campaign to have a room named in their honor.  Take a look at this video explaining why they are a part of this philanthropic student group.
